This refers to the minimum oxygen absorption capacity required to reduce the oxygen concentration in a sealed space to below 0.1% (by volume) and maintain it for a certain period of time.
Different manufacturers may label their oxygen absorbers with varying nominal absorption capacities, with some using 3x nominal oxygen capacity, while others may use 8x. The appropriate type of food oxygen absorber should be selected based on each manufacturer’s absorption ratio. The calculation formula is as follows: Nominal Oxygen Absorbed Capacity / Absorption Ratio.
Example:
If the nominal oxygen absorbed capacity calculated using the above calculator is 150 ml, and a manufacturer’s oxygen absorber is labeled as 3x nominal capacity, the calculation would be: 150 / 3 = 50. In this case, you should choose the manufacturer’s “50#” oxygen absorber.
